Prof. Mike BarnesMike is Professor of Neurological Rehabilitation at University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He is also founder and immediate past President of the World Federation of Neurological Rehabilitation, a body that seeks to improve the knowledge of, and access to, Neurological Rehabilitation Services around the world.

Over the last 20 years he has developed neurological rehabilitation throughout the North East of England and was responsible for the development of Walkergate Park, International Centre for Neurological Rehabilitation and Neuropsychiatry.

Well known throughout the UK, Mike has been President of the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine as well as Chair of the Royal College of Physicians Rehabilitation Committee and the Specialist Advisory Committee. In other words, he has held all three key positions in British rehabilitation medicine.

Mike is currently Chairman of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF)
